Patrick Mahomes is officially entering greatest-of-all-time status. The superstar quarterback captured his third Super Bowl championship — and third Super Bowl MVP — after the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in an overtime thriller, 25-22. And now, Mahomes’ game-used Super Bowl jersey and helmet is estimated to be worth in the millions.
Personal estimates on key game used items tonight
Not that any of these will be sold, at least not any time soon:
Mahomes game used Super Bowl jersey. $1.5 million+
Mahomes Game used helmet. $500,000
Touchdown ball caught in OT for win $100,000

Ken Goldin, founder and CEO of Goldin Auctions, believes if Mahomes’ Super Bowl LVIII game-worn jersey hits the open market, it could fetch at least $1.5 million, while the quarterback’s helmet could potentially sell for $500,000.

Mahomes made the championship-winning throw to wide receiver Mecole Hardman while time was ticking down in the first overtime. Goldin believes the Super Bowl-winning touchdown ball is worth an estimated $100,000. Some thought that ball would go for more, though.

“For people saying my estimate in the game used Super Bowl LVIII final TD football is low, keep in mind that historically game used footballs have not gotten the same high price of well known game used baseballs, and historically have sold for a fraction of game used jerseys from same game,” explains Goldin. “Example is a Brady to Gronk (an iconic combo) used Super Bowl FB which sold for under 75k in 2023(with perfect provenance and photo matched). So I try to be conservative. It doesn’t mean it can’t sell for 200k at an auction, but I try not to throw out unreasonably high estimates just to get headlines.”

When it comes to Travis Kelce’s game-worn Super Bowl jersey, the Goldin Auctions founder says that could reach a cool quarter-of-a-million dollars. And, who knows? Swiftie fans might even pay more knowing it’s the jersey he wore while getting a hug and a kiss from pop megastar Taylor Swift following the Super Bowl win.

Travis: "Was it electric?"
Taylor: "It was unbelievable. One of the craziest things I've ever experienced!"🥺

If Mahomes’ Super Bowl LVIII game-worn jersey ends up going on sale and getting $1.5 million, it would be the highest-selling NFL jersey of all-time, eclipsing Tom Brady’s final game jersey, which went for $1.391 million in a Sotheby’s auction last November.

The most expensive Super Bowl game-used jersey belongs to Joe Montana as the one he wore during his Super Bowl wins in XIX and XXIII sold for $1.212 million in March 2023.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨 The jersey @JoeMontana wore in #SuperBowl XIX and Super Bowl XXIII just set a new record for the highest price of any NFL jersey ever sold.

Mahomes already holds the record for most-expensive football card of all-time. His 2017 National Treasures NFL Shield autographed rookie card sold for $4.3 million in July 2021.
Mahomes threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns while he captured his third Super Bowl MVP. He is the fifth quarterback to win at least three Super Bowls, joining Brady, Montana, Terry Bradshaw and Troy Aikman. Mahomes is also the third quarterback to be named Super Bowl MVP at least three times. The other two: Brady and Montana.
Less than 24 hours after winning back-to-back championships, Mahomes is already focusing on a three-peat.
“It [would be] legendary,” Mahomes tells ESPN. “No one’s ever done it and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back. I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. We had talked to the guys [who had gone back-to-back] about it and we felt like we had the best opportunity that we had ever had to go out there and do that.
“We’ve got to continue to play our best football. We’ll celebrate these next few weeks and then we’ll get right back at it.”
