Editor: Matt Higgins

Matt Higgins started his hobby career working at a local sports card shop in Delanco, New Jersey, when he was 12 years old. Now, he’s the editor of HobbyListings. A big Philadelphia sports fan, Matt has been collecting baseball cards for over 35 years. His favorite player growing up was Phillies legend Michael Jack Schmidt, as he owns every Topps base card from Schmidt’s rookie year to when he retired in 1989. Matt likes collecting vintage cards, with his favorites including a 1951 Bowman Ted Williams, 1952 Topps Richie Ashburn, 1954 Topps Hank Aaron rookie, and 1956 Topps Jackie Robinson. Matt also keeps score of every baseball game he goes to and has hundreds of programs to prove it.

Founder / Advising Editor: Steve Fink

Steve Fink is the founder and advising editor of HobbyListings. Also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of popular research news website StudyFinds.com, Steve started collecting baseball cards in the late 1980s, turning into a devoted collector just in time for the terrible early 1990s era for collectors to push him away from the hobby by the time he went to college. During the coronavirus pandemic, however, like many others, Steve’s childhood love of ripping open packs and building his collection returned and led him to launch HobbyListings. A Baltimore native and resident, Steve is of course a die-hard Orioles and Ravens fan. His office is filled with cards and memorabilia of his beloved Baltimore teams, as well as collectibles from his University of Maryland Terrapins.

Steve is a longtime journalist who previously served as Vice President of News Engagement for CBS Local. Beginning his career as a sports producer at WJZ-TV in Baltimore in 2001, he served as Managing Editor of CBSNewYork.com and WCBSTV.com, earning an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award for the site during his tenure. In 2010, Steve joined the CBS Television Stations’ corporate digital team, overseeing content and audience development until 2021. A graduate of the University of Maryland Philip Merrill College of Journalism, he currently resides in Baltimore with his wife and two children.
