Top First Bowman Cards For Arizona Diamondbacks Prospects

The Arizona Diamondbacks are in the middle of the pack when it comes to MLB.com’s farm system rankings. Analysts have the Diamondbacks 16th overall, with three prospects ranked in the Top 100: Jordan Lawlar (9th overall), Tommy Troy (62nd overall), and Druw Jones (79th overall).

The List: Arizona Diamondbacks Prospects Top Bowman Baseball Cards

The Diamondbacks called up Jordan Lawlar at the end of the 2023 season for his first taste of the big leagues and was even included on the World Series roster. Despite the cup of coffee in the majors, the 21-year-old Lawlar was optioned to Triple-A during spring training. Unfortunately, Lawlar tore a ligament in his right thumb during a minor league spring training game and is currently rehabbing. Lawlar first appeared in 2021 Bowman Draft and collectors can buy his ungraded base 2021 Bowman Chrome Draft Autograph card in the $75-$100 range.

Tommy Troy, 22, who ranks 62nd on MLB’s Top 100 list and is currently in High Single-A, was drafted 12th overall in 2023. Collectors can find Troy’s first Bowman card in 2023 Bowman Draft. His ungraded base 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Autograph card can be snagged between $20-$30.

Druw Jones, the son of former All-Star Andruw Jones, was the second overall pick in 2022. The 20-year-old Jones, who is baseball’s 79th-ranked prospect, had a rough first season in professional baseball, dealing with a litany of injuries. Despite that, Jones is still a highly-collectible prospect who first appeared in 2023 Bowman and is currently playing at Single-A. His ungraded base 2023 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph card can be had for in the $75 range.

Yu-Min Lin, the franchise’s fourth-overall prospect, signed with the Diamondbacks in December 2021 for $520,000 following his performance at the 2021 U-23 World Cup for Chinese Taipei. The 20-year-old Taiwanese left-hander, currently pitching at Double-A, is viewed as a mid-rotation starter. He doesn’t have any Bowman card yet, but Diamondback collectors can buy his ungraded 2023 Leaf Metal Autograph in the $15-$20 range.

Gino Groover, the Diamondbacks’ fifth-ranked prospect, was taken in the second round (48th overall) of the 2023 MLB Draft. The 22-year-old Groover, currently in High Single-A, is known for his plus-bat but needs to work on his defense. He first appeared in 2024 Bowman and Groover’s ungraded base 2024 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph card can be had in the $25-$30 range.

6. Jansel Luis: No Cards

Jansel Luis was signed out of the Dominican Republic in January 2022 for $525,000. The 19-year-old is holding his own at Single-A, with a .744 OPS as of May 31. Luis does not have any baseball cards yet.

Cristofer Torin, the Diamondbacks’ seventh-ranked prospect, was signed out of Venezuela for $240,000 in January 2022. MLB.com says the 19-year-old “profiles as a potential high-contact, high-OBP option at a premium position, and power will be the biggest decider in his future role.” Torin first appears in 2023 Bowman Chrome and collectors can buy his ungraded base 2023 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph in the $15-$20 range.

Ivan Melendez, the Diamondbacks’ eighth-ranked prospect, was drafted in the second round (43rd overall) in the 2022 MLB Draft. Nicknamed the “Hispanic Titanic” coming out of the University of Texas, the 24-year-old is currently mashing at Double-A. Melendez’s first Bowman card came in 2022 Bowman Draft and collectors can find his ungraded base 2022 Bowman Chrome Draft Autograph in the $10-$15 range.

9. Dylan Ray: 2022 Bowman Chrome Draft #BDC191

Dylan Ray, the Diamondbacks’ ninth-overall prospect, was drafted in the fourth round (108th overall) in the 2022 MLB Draft.  MLB.com says the 23-year-old right-hander, who is currently on the 60-day injured list in Double-A, has the upside of a No. 4 starter. Ray’s first Bowman card came in 2022 Bowman Draft. He doesn’t have any autographs, so collectors can scoop up his base chrome on the cheap for $1.

10. Ruben Santana: 2023 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autograph #CPARSA

Ruben Santana, the Diamondbacks’ tenth-ranked prospect, was signed out of the Dominican Republic for $750,000 in January 2022. Santana is very yound — 19 years old — and currently playing in Single-A. MLB.com calls Santana an “interesting follow” due to his power and early performance in Rookie Ball. Santana’s first Bowman comes from 2023 Bowman Chrome and his ungraded base autograph only runs in the $5-$10 range.
