Paul Skenes Rookie Cards Featured In 2024 Topps Museum

Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes will be included in the upcoming 2024 Topps Museum Collection Baseball product. Collectors will be able to chase base rookie cards of the All-Star pitcher. However, according to the checklist, there are no rookie autographs or relics of Skenes.

It will be Skenes’ first non-Topps Now rookie card.

Skenes is having an historic rookie season with the Pirates. He’s the first player to ever be selected to an All-Star Game a year after being drafted. The Pirates took Skenes first overall in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Skenes has been nothing short of dominant in his first ten starts of his career. He is 5-0 with 78 strikeouts over 59 1/3 innings. Skenes also ranks second in ERA at 2.12.

“Obviously, starting the year in Triple-A, the odds of going to the Major League All-Star Game are pretty slim, so that wasn’t one of my goals necessarily or expectations for this season,” Skenes told MLB.com. “It’s just a huge honor that I’m able to do it, after playing just a short span in the big leagues.”

Skenes has been very popular among the hobby community. The right-handed hurler appears twice on Market Movers’ list of most cards sold in  last 30 days: his raw 2024 Bowman AI and raw 2023 Bowman Draft paper.

The most expensive Skenes card to-date is his 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Superfractor Autograph 1/1 that scored $80,520 last month at Goldin. Six other Skenes cards have sold for over $10,000.

Topps is offering pre-orders of 2024 Topps Museum Baseball Collection hobby boxes for Montgomery Club members. The boxes retail for $389.99 each. Every box contains one on-card auto, one auto relic, one quad relic and one relic.
