Jackson Holliday Gives Nod To Bill Ripken With 2024 Topps Series 2 ‘Fun Face’ Short Print Variation

Jackson Holliday is paying homage to an infamous Bill Ripken baseball card. Even though he wasn’t initially included on the checklist, the Baltimore Orioles top prospect will be appearing in 2024 Topps Series 2 as a short print variation, according to Ryan Cracknell from Beckett.com. And the variation is similar to Ripken’s 1989 Fleer “F*ck Face” card as Holliday has “Fun Face” written on the bat knob.

The Holliday short print variations started popping up on social media, including Reddit and X, formerly Twitter.

On top of the short print variation, Holliday does have rookie insert autographs in 2024 Topps Series 2. Holliday will also have rookie autograph cards in 2024 Topps Tier One.

The 20-year-old Holliday made his Major League Baseball debut against the Boston Red Sox on April 10. He struggled in his first call-up to the bigs, hitting .059 across ten games. Holliday was sent back down to Triple-A, where he continues to rake.

Holliday remains the No. 1 prospect in baseball.

Other rookies receiving the short-print treatment in 2024 Topps Series 2 is Texas Rangers’ Wyatt Langford, Milwaukee Brewers’ Jackson Chourio and San Diego Padres’ Jackson Merrill, Beckett reports.

For those wondering and as far as we know, Pittsburgh Pirates rookie ace Paul Skenes has not been included in 2024 Topps Series 2.

2024 Topps Series 2 drops Wednesday, June 12.
