Donald Trump Mugshot Relic Card Sells For Thousands Hours After Guilty Verdict

Hours after becoming the first president in United States history to be convicted of a crime, a mugshot relic card of Donald Trump has sold for thousands of dollars. The Collect Trump Cards relic card, which contains a piece of the suit he wore when he had his mugshot taken inside an Atlanta, Georgia, jail last year, fetched $6,177 on eBay.

There were 43 bids before the auction ended Thursday evening.

“This trading card includes an authentic piece of the suit worn by President Donald J. Trump during his mugshot photo on August 24, 2023 in Fulton County, Georgia. The suit was professionally authenticated by MEARS Authentication LLC as the actual suit worn that day by President Trump,” the back of the card reads.

Only 395 Trump mugshot relic cards were produced. This specific one was numbered 277/395. Collectors had to purchase at least 47 digital Trump trading cards in a single transaction off Collect Trump Cards’ website to be eligible to receive the physical mugshot relic card. Each Trump digital card cost $99.

“This is an incredible Donald Trump Mugshot Edition card #277 of 365,” the eBay description lot says. “This has a piece on the suit Donald Trump wore for the Fulton County mugshot photo. You needed to buy 47 NFT’s to get one of these so this is an incredibly unique opportunity! All original packaging and provenance from original buyer! This is sealed as issued in absolute mint condition.”

Other similar Trump relic cards are for sale on eBay, ranging from a buy-it-now price of $4,700 to a staggering $50,000.

The twice-impeached ex-president was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records over a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in an effort to cover-up a sex scandal ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Twelve jurors deliberated for less than two days before reaching the guilty verdict.

Last year, Trump was found liable of sexually assaulting former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll in a luxury department store dressing room in 1996 and was awarded $5 million in the civil case. Earlier this year, a separate jury ordered Trump to pay Carroll $83 million in compensatory damages for defaming her in 2019 when he denied he sexually assaulted her.

This past February, Trump was ordered to pay $354 million following a ruling in his New York civil fraud trial. A judge found Trump committed financial fraud over decades, including inflating how much his properties were worth.

Trump also has three other criminal cases on his docket. The former president is facing 40 federal charges for allegedly mishandling and concealing classified documents; four federal conspiracy and obstruction counts for allegedly plotting to subvert the transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election; and ten state felony charges for allegedly trying to overturn Georgia’s 2020 presidential election results.
